Description: This archival CD Rom contains the immigration visa of my grandmother, Helen Lenhoff (née Löwy, married name Zucker), who was 43 when she left Czechoslovakia in 1940. A colleague of her brother and brother-in-law, Dr. Emil Schulz, sponsored Helen as a domestic in his home in Mexico City. Dr. Schulz, a lawyer, had emigrated from Austria in 1938. Helen’s immigration visa was issued in Hamburg, Germany, at the Mexican Embassy on September 11th, 1940. She arrived in Mexico City on December 4th, 1940.
Voyage to Ottawa: I brought a copy of the aforementioned CD Rom from the Archives of the National Library in Mexico City to Ottawa.
